Depending on the platform you are using, Zend Guard can be launched:
In a new Program Group
In an existing Program Group
In the Start Menu
On the Desktop
In the Quick Launch Bar
Home directory
Your choice determines how, and from where, you will be able to activate Zend Guard.
Zend Studio users can activate Zend Guard from the Zend Studio User Interface (Tools | Encode Project), or from the Shortcut Menu.
Installing Zend Guard via the Zend Studio installation adds additional integration options. The integration enables users to open and edit encoded Files with Zend Studio, directly from Zend Guard.
Note:
These options are available even if the installation is not done at the same time. The only difference is that the integration settings are automatically configured, whereas in separate installations these options have to be manually configured.
Installing the Zend Guard via Zend Studio starts a separate download and installation process:
The Zend Studio Installer prompts the user to select to download the Zend Guard.
Selecting to install Zend Guard, adds a download request to the Zend Studio Installer.
Confirming the download request (clicking the download button) runs two actions:
Starts to download the Zend Guard package from www.zend.com.
When the download is completed, it automatically runs the Zend Guard installation process.
