Working with Statistics

This topic describes how to use Zend Statistics to monitor the performance of your applications and servers using Zend Statistics.

The Statistics gallery contains fifteen charts displayed on six tabs: Overview, System Health, System Utilization, Usage Statistics, Mobile Usage, and Mobile Statistics. You can easily navigate from tab to tab view all available charts.

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To browse between the charts:

  1. In the UI, go to the Dashboard page.
  2. Browse by selecting the tab name above the Statistics and Welcome Gallery.

    Click the arrows to the right/left of the statistical charts.
  3. To reload a graph, hover and click .

By default, the displayed Statistics represent data for all deployed applications on your server. You can filter the Statistics by application and time frame.

To filter Statistics:

  1. In the UI, go to Dashboard.
  2. From the Applications list, select the application you wish to exhibit Statistics for.
    The statistics charts display data related to the selected application.
  3. To select a time frame, click the Time Range drop-down menu, and select the requested time frame.
    The statistics charts displays data for the selected time frame.

Zend Server Statistics can be graphically manipulated to enhance your analysis of the displayed data. You can zoom in and out of a portion of any given chart to view a higher details resolution, or expand the view.

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To focus or expand a chart:

  1. In the UI, go to Dashboard.
  2. Locate the chart by browsing between the gallery pages.
  3. Hover over a segment of the pie, or a point on a graph, to view statistics.
  4. Select and drag your cursor to mark the portion of the chart you wish to focus on.
  5. Hover over the top-left corner of a chart, and click to expand the view.

Click Reset Zoom to return to normal view.

Tip:

Clicking a segment of the Events Breakdown chart will display the Events page filtered according to the selcected segment (Resources, Performance, Errors).

This procedures explains how to configure the Zend Statistics component by changing the directives displayed in the UI. You can set the time range for storing how long entries are stored, when to flush gathered information, and the log's verbosity level.

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To configure the component:

  1. In the UI, go to Administration | Components.
  2. From the Components list, select the component.
    The Expanded view will display the directives associated with the component.
  3. Review the assorted directives and their descriptions, and configure the component according to your personal preferences. For information on how to configure directives, see Working with Components.
  4. In the Action bar, click Save.

  5. In the toolbar, the restart icon lights up , indicating a restart is needed to apply changes. Click to restart server and apply changes.
