Configuring Zend Monitor

The following procedures describe how to configure default, cleanup, code tracing, and advanced settings for the Zend Monitor component.

Important:

In order to define a Monitoring Rule. the Zend Monitor component must be installed and running. To verify, go to Configurations | Components.

This procedure describes how to define which events will be deleted in Zend Server's cleanup process, which is run every 24 hours to delete old events.

 

 

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To configure Zend Monitor periodic cleanup settings:

  1. In the UI, go to Monitoring | Settings.
  2. In the Zend Monitor Periodic Cleanup Settings area , define the Zend Monitor cleanup process: 
    • Delete any event which did not occur in the last - Define how long (in days) must have gone by since the event occurred for it to be deleted during the cleanup process. This applies to any event.
  3. Click Save.

  4. In the toolbar, the restart icon lights up , indicating a restart is needed to apply changes. Click to restart server and apply changes.

Click Advanced Settings to configure the component's advanced and daemon directives.

This procedure describes how to define the default triggered action settings for event rules.

 

 

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To configure the Zend Monitor default triggered actions settings:

  1. In the UI, go to Monitoring | Settings.
  2. In the Zend Monitor Default Settings area, configure the following settings:

    • Monitor rule default email address - Enter a comma-separated list of email addresses. All emails sent by the monitoring module will be sent to these addresses unless a different address is specified for a monitoring rule (Configuration | Event Rules).

    • Monitor rule default custom action URL - A customized action callback URL.
  1. Click Save.

This procedure describes how to set the activation options for running a code trace for events.

 

 

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To enable/disable event-triggered code tracing:

  1. In the UI, go to Monitoring | Settings.
  2. In the Code Tracing for Events area, set the code tracing activation options:

    • Enable Code Tracing for events - Code tracing is available for events.

    • Disable Code Tracing for events - Code tracing is not available for events.
  1. Click Save.

Important!

If enabled, you will also need to activate Code Tracing for the specific monitoring rule from the New/Edit Event Rules page. For more information, see Activating Code Tracing for a Monitoring Rule below, and Working with Event Rules.

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To configure Zend Monitor advanced settings:

  1. In the UI, go to Adminsitration | Components (if you are already on the Configurations | Monitor page, you can skip to step 3 by clicking the Advanced Monitor Settings link at the top-right side of the page).
  2. From the Components list, select the Zend Monitor component.
    The Expanded view will display the directives associated with the component.
  3. Review the assorted directives and their descriptions, and configure the component according to your personal preferences. For information on how to configure directives, see Working with Components.
  4. Click .

  5. In the toolbar, the restart icon lights up , indicating a restart is needed to apply changes. Click to restart server and apply changes.
