Using Z-Ray
This topic provides general instructions for working with Z-Ray, such as opening and closing panels, viewing and sorting information, etc. For feature-specific workflows, see Developing with Z-Ray.
Information in Z-Ray is viewed by opening panels containing request related data.

To open a Z-Ray panel (Page Requests/Monitor Events/Log Entries/Database Queries/Functions/Variables), select the relevant icon. Selecting will pin the panel to your browser. To navigate between open panels, simply select a different icon. To close a Z-Ray panel, click the minimize icon in the Action bar. Use the navigation arrows to scroll right and left to access other Z-Ray panels. |

Information in Z-Ray panels can be sorted according to column titles.

To sort information in the various section tables according to a specific column, click the column title. The direction of the arrow head indicates the sorting order - ascending or descending. Click the column title again to change the order. |
The Z-Ray displays information on requests by recording data progression on the Web server. You can pause this recording as you see fit.

To pause recording in Z-Ray, click the Pause icon . To resume recording in Z-Ray, click the Play icon . |
The Z-Ray can be cleared from all request information, allowing you to start fresh with a clean Z-Ray.

To clean request information in Z-Ray, click the Clean Requests icon on the right side of Z-Ray. |
The Z-Ray can easily be removed from your browser view, by either closing it for a specific page or for a browser session. Alternatively,Z-Ray can be minimized.

To close Z-Ray, click the Menu icon on the right side of Z-Ray, and select one of the following options:
To collapse or expand Z-Ray, click the Minimize/Maximize icons on the right side of Z-Ray. |
Note: Closing Z-Ray does not disable it, and once the page is reloaded, either in the same browser session or in a different browser session, Z-Ray will be displayed again. To learn how to completely disable Z-Ray, see Enabling/Disabling Z-Ray. Tip: Press Ctrl+Alt+C to collapse or expand Z-Ray. |
This procedure describes how to create a report containing the data displayed in a Z-Ray module.

To export data from Z-Ray: In an open Z-Ray panel, click the Export icon in the Action bar. |
Tip: You can also export from the various Z-Ray backtrace panels. |
