Managing Jobs

The following procedure describes how to manage the rules for recurring jobs. These jobs are created on the Jobs page, or by using the Job Queue API.

Zend Server job filtering reduces the number of jobs in the Jobs list on the Job Queue | Jobs page by displaying jobs according to your personal preferences, thus facilitating a more precise monitoring process.

 

 

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To filter jobs:

  1. In the UI, go to Job Queue | Jobs.

  1. To filter jobs by time range, click the 'Time Range' menu, and select a filter. To manually configure the time range, click the calendar icons.
  1. In the Filters area, click the Filter-Set drop-down menu, and select a filter-set (Default filters: All Jobs, Failed Jobs, Successful Jobs).
    The included filters are displayed in the Filter By area, and the Jobs list is filtered accordingly.
  2. To further filter jobs, in the top-left corner of the Filters area , click Show Filters.
    The Filter Action bar, and filter categories are displayed.

  1. Click on a filter to add it.
    You can add as many filters you like. All selected filters are displayed in the Filter By area, and the Jobs list is filtered accordingly.
  2. To remove a specific filter from the filter-set, click the filter's delete button (X) in the Filter By area.
  3. To save the selected filters as a new filter-set, click , and enter a name in the Name field..
    The new filter-set is saved and added to the Filter-Set list.
  1. To configure an existing filter-set, select it from the Filter-Set list:
    1. To rename it, click and enter a new name.
    2. To create a new filter-set based on the selected set, add or remove filters according to your personal preferences, and repeat step a.
    3. To delete it, select it from the Filter-Set list, and click .

To clear all selected filters from the Filter By area, click .

Tip:

The URL for this page uses URI fragment identifiers - pasting the URL in another tab/browser will load the page with current filters activated.

This procedure explains how to run an existing recurring job.

To run a new recurring job:

  1. In the UI, go to Job Queue | Recurring Jobs.

  2. Select one or more jobs from the list by clicking the check-box next to the job, or hover over the job, and click .

 

This procedure explains how to temporarily stop a job from running while still saving the job definitions.

 

 

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To manage a new recurring job:

  1. In the UI, go to Job Queue | Recurring Jobs.

  2. Select one or more jobs from the list by clicking the check-box next to the job, and click .
    -OR-
    Hover over the job, and click .

The job is suspended but not deleted. For information on resuming jobs, see Resuming Jobs below.

This procedure explains how to resume a suspended job.

To resume a recurring job:

  1. In the UI, go to Job Queue | Recurring Jobs.

  2. Select one or more jobs from the list by clicking the check-box next to the job , and click .
    -OR-
    Hover over the job, and click .

 

This procedure explains how to remove a recurring job from your jobs list.

   
 

To remove a recurring job:

  1. In the UI, go to Job Queue | Recurring Jobs.

  2. Select one or more jobs from the list by clicking the check-box next to the job, and click .
    -OR-
    Hover over the job, and click .
    The job is removed from the job list.
 

 

 

Instructions on how to complete a procedure

To edit a recurring job:

  1. In the UI, go to Job Queue | Recurring Jobs.

  2. Select one or more jobs from the list by clicking the check-box next to the job, or hover over the job, and click .
    The Edit a Recurring Job page is displayed.

  3. Edit the job according to your personal preferences. For information on the different configuration options, see Creating a New Recurring Job.
  4. In the Action bar, click .
    The new rule settings are saved and the job is updated.
